Bonnie Knippenberg

Bonnie taught public school for 30 years. She didn’t realize her artistic talent until the last 12 years of her teaching career. However, she always used art to motivate and inform her students.  She became recognized  through her endeavors to promote art. The art director of Norman Public Schools asked her to consider teaching art at a middle school.

This new position inspired her to create her own art . She told her middle school students that “Art is a conversation with the viewer”.  She looked at the art she was producing and decided, “I paint because it makes me happy, and hope my paintings bring joy to the viewer." Bonnie retired 11 years ago. She continues to paint regularly.
